Appliance Manuals

Is it worth reading the washer or other appliances manuals?

 Maytag Washer Manual
It’s not uncommon for a customer to mention that the modern washing machine sure seems to have a lot of features. Many of these folks say they don’t need or use all the features the manufacturers currently offer, stating they could do with just one or two of the features, and they’d be fine with that.
So that got me to thinking about my washer, and it brought two questions to mind:
First, do I use all the cycles?
Second, why do the manufacturers give us all those cycles and features?
The answer to the second question is easy: all the cycles are there to help the machine do the best it can at washing our clothes within today’s government standards. Standards of how much water and energy a washer should use. In my case, I don’t use or need every single cycle, but it is reassuring to know that they are available if the need arises.

Step by Step Use of the Urban Cultivator- Intro

When Mr. Barber told us about the Urban Cultivator and asked whether we thought Barber and Haskill should carry it, I was in favour from the first moment.

But I am a happy gardener;  I love my
garden and back yard and would spend all my time there except for bills that need to be paid.

This device is an indoor garden complete with lights and irrigation.  It is the size of a dishwasher that you can install in your kitchen or have as a portable unit.

This item was featured on the CBC television show Dragons Den a few years ago. these “hippies” as some reviewers called them got their deal and now The Urban Cultivator is available at select retailers across Canada.    I  was an avid Dragons Den follower for years but had missed the original pitch; it is on youtube, and it is worth watching in my opinion.    Is there anyone like Kevin ????? Chest Freezer vs Upright Freezer

Why I bought a Frost-Free Freezer

Background

In 2006, I made the leap from Chest Freezer to Upright......for my  household it was an easy decision....WonderBread use to have an extra shift on just because of the number of hotdog bun packages that I lost in the bottom of my Chest Freezer. So even though a chest freezer is more energy efficient than an upright it was all about organization and
floor space in my “pantry room” in the basement.   The only thing I miss about my chest
freezer is the surface to wrap Christmas presents on.  And for those people that still
prefer a chest freezer Frigidaire does have a couple of models that have an
organization system in them.
