PowerWash® system, only a Maytag® washer

Maytag claims to be the best in the industry* when it comes to providing you with the best machine cleaning.

Why do you think they have the confidence to say this?
They can say this because they have the confidence of the  PowerWash® system.

Power Wash uses a combination of higher than average water temperatures, longer wash times, and the most vigorous wash action the machine offers.  Combined with an extra rinse to finish the cycle off.  To get the best cleaning results in the industry.

French Door Refrigerators

There are four popular questions I am regularly asked by people as they start their search for a new French Door Refrigerator.   I thought it would be a good ideas to share these questions – and my answers – with you.

KitchenAid French Door Refrigerator Q: What brand of French Door Refrigerator is best?
A: Almost every appliance brand we carry now makes at least one French Door Refrigerator, so there are lots to choose.  I feel that Kitchen Aid, Maytag or Samsung have the best value based on the many years of dealing with these brands.  Above that, however, these three brands separate themselves from the competition by offering a 10-year compressor warranty.  I like that added piece of mind when investing in a great new fridge.

Appliance Manuals

Is it worth reading the washer or other appliances manuals?

 Maytag Washer Manual
It’s not uncommon for a customer to mention that the modern washing machine sure seems to have a lot of features. Many of these folks say they don’t need or use all the features the manufacturers currently offer, stating they could do with just one or two of the features, and they’d be fine with that.
So that got me to thinking about my washer, and it brought two questions to mind:
First, do I use all the cycles?
Second, why do the manufacturers give us all those cycles and features?
The answer to the second question is easy: all the cycles are there to help the machine do the best it can at washing our clothes within today’s government standards. Standards of how much water and energy a washer should use. In my case, I don’t use or need every single cycle, but it is reassuring to know that they are available if the need arises.

Choosing a Refrigerator

Choosing a Refrigerator?

When selecting a new refrigerator for your kitchen, there are many things to consider. Watch the video to have Lee of Barber and Haskill walk you through some of these.

1. Size (External). Because fridge size is not standard, there are various dimensions to choose from. If you're interested in renovating your kitchen you can be more flexible in your decision, but more likely you're looking to fit the unit into a pre-existing space. In that case, measuring this space and bringing the dimensions with you on your search will be important.
2. Size (Internal). Just as important as fitting the fridge in your kitchen is the matter of being able to fit your food into your fridge. Maybe you have a big family and need an equally big fridge; maybe a lot of freezer space is a priority for you; maybe the reverse is true. At any rate, it's something you should evaluate beforehand.
3. Design and Layout. While most fridges are pretty similar, there are some key differences in this area. The location of the freezer (whether you would prefer it to be located on the bottom, the top, or at the side), the presence (or absence) of a water and ice maker, number of shelves and drawers, and the layout of the spaces on the door may all be points of interest when shopping for a fridge.
4. Aesthetics. Fridges come in many different colours and have for quite some time; likely you'll be interested in finding one that fits into the current or future colour scheme of your kitchen. Another thing to consider here is stainless steel. While generally desired for its appearance, stainless steel appliances (and their predisposition to fingerprints) have been thought of as a nuisance in family situations. Recent developments have created a stainless steel that is fingerprint resistant! Sound crazy? Come into the store and test it out.

Some other things to think about may be:

- How loud the appliance is,

- How well it fits into your budget, and

- How long the warranty is

Come in to Barber and Haskill in Midland where our associates will help you to find the refrigerator that fits all your needs.
